Michaels - Nestled among the architectural back streets of Key West's Old Town district lies a garden oasis where Chef Michael Wilson and his wife Melanie offer a classic menu with an island twist. Their emphasis on quality and service, coupled with island casual elegance, has established Michaels as a favorite of Key West locals and visitors with discriminating dining palates.

Michaels' steaks are 100% prime beef, flown in from Chicago. The seafood selections change nightly, reflecting a consuming passion for freshness and quality. For a special treat, Michaels offers fondue at the bar.

"New World - Fusion - Confusion - Cuisine" is how Alice's Key West award-winning chef, Alice Weingarten describes their fare. Alice is recipient of both South Florida Gourmet's August Chef Of The Month and as one of the Top Ten Chefs in South Florida and is the only Key West chef to receive this award. Come experience her magic at Alice's Key West. Reservations are recommended.

Antonia's has been praised for the food as well as the service and ambiance. They have received the People's Choice Award as Key West's favorite Italian restaurant and the Critic's Choice selection from South Florida Magazine. Everything at Antonia's is homemade and prepared to order using only the freshest ingredients.

At Seven Fish, Simple - Good - Food does not do justice to this hidden jewel. Freshest seafood and imaginative preparation in a casual setting with friendly service is the standard at Seven Fish. Reservations are strongly suggested.

After years of study, cooking and refining his skills in France, John Correa returned to the states, met his wife Judy and opened Café Solé , an unpretentious, intimate little restaurant in Key West. In a very short order, Café Solé captured the hearts and palates of locals and visitors lucky enough to discover this culinary gem off the beaten path. By combining his French mastery of sauces with fresh locally caught seafood, John has created a menu unlike any on the island, where every dish is bursting with indescribable flavors. Mutton snapper in pesto and champagne, yellowtail in a beurre blanc of lobster or a rare hog snapper with red pepper zabaglione top a list of nightly specials.

In addition to great places to eat and shop, there are many tourist activities in the square. Some fun things to do, while down in the southernmost Florida Key are:

If diving is your thing but you want to go somewhere more private and less crowded, you can head out to Ft. Jefferson Dry Tortugas National Park. One of Key West's largest Fast Cat multi hull boats, the Yankee Fleet's ferry, Yankee Freedom will take you on a trip almost 70 miles west of Key West, Florida. (112.9 km round trip) There, lie a cluster of seven islands called the Dry Tortugas. These islands, along with surrounding coral reefs and waters, make up Dry Tortugas National Park. Snorkeling, kayaking, camping, legends of pirates, and sunken gold have drawn visitors to this national park from all over the world.
